# Device rent

> What you pay each month for devices beyond your free allowance

Each device beyond your free allowance costs a small monthly rent, paid from your credit balance.

## Pricing

See the current price per device on the [Pricing page](https://firmngin.dev/pricing). Prices may change, and a new price applies from the next charge.

## How it works

* Your first **5 devices** are free.
* Rent is charged on the **1st of every month** (07:00 WIB / 00:00 UTC).
* In the first month, you only pay for the days left in that month.
* Delete or archive a device to stop its rent from the next month.

## Example

With an example price of $0.50 per month, a device created on Nov 16 costs **$0.25\*\* for the rest of November (15 of 30 days), then **\$0.50** every month from Dec 1.

## If your balance runs low

You get **7 days** to top up. After that, devices beyond your free allowance stop working until you top up, and then they come back automatically. We email you along the way.
