Create a batch after preparing a device template and matching firmware. A batch groups device records for one production run.

Before you start

Select the correct workspace and confirm that the template is available there. Your plan’s remaining device allowance determines how many more devices you can register.

Create devices

  1. Open Devices → Fleet Batches.
  2. Select New batch. This opens Bulk Provisioning.
  3. Under Device template, select the template for your product.
  4. Enter the number of devices you want to create. Review the available allowance shown in the form.
  5. Under Device name, enter a base name, such as TempMonitor. Firmngin adds the unit number automatically.
  6. Select Create devices and wait for Batch result.
For example, a base name of TempMonitor produces names such as TempMonitor-001 and TempMonitor-002.

Review the result

The result separates registered units from units that were not created: Review the result before submitting another batch. If only some devices were created, those successful records already exist. Select View fleet batch to return to the batch list.

Follow factory setup

Expand a batch to see its device records. The factory status helps you follow each unit: Provisioning remaining shows how many registered units still lack completed factory provisioning. These statuses describe factory setup. They do not replace checks that the physical product works correctly.

Add more devices to the same batch

Review the template before adding more devices. New additions use the template’s current version, which may differ from the version used for the earlier units.
  1. Find the batch in Fleet Batches.
  2. Select Add devices.
  3. Enter Count, within the remaining allowance shown.
  4. Select Add.
The device numbering continues automatically from the batch. Use this when you need more units in the same production run. Continue to Factory setup and unit checks to prepare the physical boards.
